The Marks USA M9927 Dogging Mechanism is a replacement component designed for use with the M9900 Series rim panic exit devices. Dogging allows the panic device's latch bolt to be mechanically held in the retracted position, converting the door to free push/pull operation during business hours or peak traffic—eliminating the need to physically push the touchbar each time. When dogging is released, the device returns to normal latching and panic-egress function.
Engineered as a direct OEM replacement, the M9927 ensures proper fit and reliable performance for maintenance, repair, or upgrade of existing M9900 Series hardware. Ideal for commercial entrances, schools, retail, and other high-use openings where controlled free-access is required without compromising life-safety egress.
Note: Dogging is typically not permitted on fire-rated openings—verify your application's code requirements before installing.
