- Insert the key and turn it roughly 90 degrees so the bottom pins (key pins) are flush with the plug's shear line.
- Insert the plug follower into the back of the cylinder housing.
- Push the plug follower forward while gently pulling the cylinder plug out from the front.
- The follower takes the place of the plug, keeping the springs and top pins trapped securely in the upper chambers so they don't launch out.
